Vaikkakin kaikki pennut ovat jo saaneet uudet omistajat, on kotona vielä kaksi tyttöä siihen asti kunnes uudet omistajat voivat ne koteihinsa ottaa. Tytöt ovat jo niin isoja, että tarvitsevat enemmän liikuntaa kuin pihalla juoksua joten joka ilta ovat päässeet mukaan metsään juoksentelemaan. Vessen ja Tamin lenkit ovat sen mukaan tylsistyneet huomattavasti. En viitsi heittää nille keppejä kovin usein, sillä näille kahdelle pienelle syttyy saaliskäyttäytyminen välittömästi ja etenkin Vessen kimpussa ovat ampuen kiinni siihen ihan mihin vain milloinkin sattuvat osumaan.
Pennut saavat tietysti juosta vapaana metsässä ja olen varautunut siihen, että siellä saattaa tulla myös vieraita koiria vastaan. Takin taskut ovat siis ahdettu täyteen Frolicia ja melko hyvin tuo toimiikin. Eilen kuitenkin tuli vastaan pointteri, jonka omistaja kyllä otti kiinni. Tiedän koiran aiemmista kohtaamisista. Se on erittäin kiltti mutta hieman arka. Pennut saivat (todelisuudessa eihän minulla muita vaihtoehtoja ollut) siis mennä tutustumaan tähän vieraaseen koiraan. Eipä taida se narttu haluta enää ikinä nähdä pentuja tuon kohtaamisen jälkeen. Sen verran aktiivista, läheistä ja jopa tunkeilevaa tuttavuutta nämä tytöt tekivät. Frolicin voimalla sain pennut houkuteltua toiseen suuntaan ja pointteri varmasti huokaisi helpotuksesta.
Myös piha on ihana asia koirien kannalta. Isot koirat osaavat sentään rajat (ainakin suurimaan osan aikaa) mutta eihän nämä pienet sellaisesta älyä mitään. Pihamme on aidattu mutta lunta on tullut sen verran paljon, että varsinkin pihan perällä olevan aidan yli voi jopa pentu astua. Nyt niitä ei voi enää päästää pihalle valvomatta, sillä nehän ovat tietenkin keksineet miten laajentaa reviiriä. Siinä kohtaa luoksetulossa ei auta edes Frolic.

Although all the puppies have new owners I still have two girls at home until the new owners can come and get them. The girls are already so big that they need more exercise than just running in the garden so every evening I take them to the woods to run. The walks for Vesse and Tami have considerably bored. I don’t bother to throw sticks so often, because the small ones go into prey drive immediately and especially Vesse is their target and they bite him all over.
The puppies get to run free in the woods of course although I’m prepared that we might meet foreign dogs. That’s why my pockets are full of Frolic and it works quite well. Yesterday we met a pointer which the owner put on a leach. I know the dog from earlier occasions. She’s very kind but a bit shy. The puppies were allowed (in fact I didn’t have any other options) to get in acquaintance with this foreign dog. I think that bitch will never want to see another puppy after this rendezvous. It was that active, close and even pushy acquaintance made by these girls. With the power of Frolic I managed to lure the puppies in another direction and the pointer must have sigh for relief.
The garden is a wonderful thing for the dogs. The grownups know the boarders (at least most of the time) but the small ones don’t understand any of it. We have a fence around our garden but there is so much snow at the moment that especially the fence in the back of the garden is so low that even a puppy can step over it. I can’t let them run and play in the garden without control. Naturally they found out how to expand their territory. Even Frolic doesn’t help for incoming in that situation.
